Background of the Carbon Accounting Market Survey
As climate action accelerates, companies are under increasing pressure to accurately measure
and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in pursuit of the 2050 carbon-neutral goal.
According to Japan’s Ministry of the Environment, in fiscal year 2023, the industrial sector
accounted for 37% of the nation’s total energy-related GHG emissions on the consumption side,
including electricity and heat use, the largest share among all sectors. Moreover, over 90% of
