“ASUENE”, a carbon accounting platform provides “CSRD reporting” function. To support corporate sustainability reporting based on ESRS items

ASUENE’s carbon accounting platform “ASUENE” provides the “CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) reporting” function. This update includes an “automatic calculation of emissions and usage,” “ESG reporting questionnaires,” and “data export functionality.” By aligning with ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) items, the platform supports the creation of CSRD-compliant reports.

Background of the Development of the “CSRD Reporting” Feature

The global movement toward decarbonization is accelerating, and companies are being required to disclose climate-related financial information, visualize CO2 emissions, and implement reduction measures. Under the CSRD, which came into effect in January 2023, companies are increasingly required to focus on their ESG management efforts in accordance with the specific items outlined in the ESRS. This regulation aims to strengthen the disclosure of sustainability information, requiring greater transparency and sustainability in business activities.

Currently, CSRD requires third-party assurance from auditors or other external parties for companies. There are plans to transition from the current “limited assurance” to a higher standard of “reasonable assurance,” which is expected to increase the audit effort required. Large companies and publicly listed companies within the EU are required to strengthen not only their decarbonization efforts but also ESG management that takes into account their social impact and governance structure. They are also expected to enhance their sustainability information disclosure.

About the “CSRD Reporting” Function

“ASUENE”, a carbon accounting platform has added the “CSRD reporting” function. With this function, “ASUENE” enables automatic calculation of emissions and usage, ESG reporting questions, and data export functions. It supports reporting on ESG items in line with the CSRD reporting requirements of ESRS, covering governance, strategy, impact risk management, opportunities management, and metrics and targets. Additionally, combined with ASUENE’s capabilities in data collection, aggregation, and consulting, we can now provide one-stop support for CSRD reporting.
