ASUENE Inc. has begun developing a feature for its AI-powered LCA and product carbon footprint (PCF) calculation software, ASUENE LCA, to enable PCF data exchange in line with Catena-X standards. The feature is designed to let companies share PCF data calculated in ASUENE LCA through Catena-X-compatible platforms. It will help Japanese automotive parts suppliers respond to data requests from European customers and address applicable requirements under EU regulations, including CBAM, the EU Batteries Regulation and ESPR.
Background to the Catena-X Integration
Automotive supply chains are becoming more complex, and companies are increasingly required to collect and share data on the environmental impact of products, including PCF. In Europe, CBAM entered its definitive regime in January 2026, while requirements under the EU Battery Regulation and ESPR are being introduced in stages.
Catena-X is an open data ecosystem for the automotive industry that sets common standards for exchanging data between companies. Such interoperability is particularly important in automotive supply chains, where vehicle manufacturers work with multiple tiers of suppliers and must trace products and components across companies and systems.
Today, companies often calculate PCFs in spreadsheets and submit the results in different formats to different customers. This makes data difficult to exchange and reuse. As European automakers adopt Catena-X standards, their suppliers also need ways to share PCF data in compatible formats.In July 2026, ASUENE expanded its European presence by bringing Secaro, a supply chain GHG visualization platform, into the ASUENE Group. ASUENE has now begun developing a feature that will allow PCF data calculated in ASUENE LCA to be exchanged with other platforms built to Catena-X standards.
About the Catena-X Integration
“ASUENE LCA” is a service for LCA and PCF calculations. The new feature will connect data calculated with “ASUENE LCA” to external Catena-X-compliant platforms.
The feature will allow users to share PCF data with other Catena-X-compliant platforms without processing or converting the data separately for each business partner.
Following demonstration testing and verification, the Company will work toward commercialization of the feature. The Company aims to help Japanese automotive parts manufacturers meet common data requirements across global supply chains.
