Carbon EX Inc. and FPT Information System Corporation, a leading solution and product developer, system integrator, and IT service provider in Vietnam and the region, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic partnership. Through their collaboration, the two companies will collaborate to develop carbon credit, and carbon marketplace business in Vietnam to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Background of the Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic Partnership
Vietnam has announced its policy to operate a carbon credit exchange on a pilot basis by 2025 and officially begin operating it in 2028, according to MONRE’s draft carbon market development plan. The carbon credit business is also attracting attention, as the Law on Environmental Protection stipulates a mechanism that allows trading of CO2 emission allowances and credits for reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. In recent times, Vietnam has seen over 300 programs and projects registered for implementation under various mechanisms such as carbon credit exchange, offsetting, etc. Among them, approximately 150 programs and projects have been issued 40.2 million carbon credits and traded on the global carbon market. Carbon EX is a carbon credit/renewable certificate trading platform where we connect developers, sellers, traders, and buyers to trade carbon credits. Carbon EX also provides consultation to help procure carbon credit on demand, and consultation to develop new carbon credit projects around the world.
