ASUENE Inc. has added a new AI agent to its carbon accounting cloud service for GHG
emissions measurement, reduction and reporting “ASUENE”. The AI Email Import” feature
automatically reads invoices received via email and registers the data required for GHG
emissions calculation.
With this new function, the AI agent NIKOLA, built into ASUENE, identifies and imports files
necessary for emissions calculations, including invoices for electricity, gas, and various procured
materials. The AI analyses the contents of these files, extracts the information required for GHG
emissions measurement, and automatically performs the calculation within ASUENE. As a
result, sustainability teams can complete emissions measurement on ASUENE without
performing manual data entry, AI-OCR processing, or CSV formatting tasks.

Background of the “AI Email Import” Feature
In sustainability operations, companies often need to review large volumes of invoice emails,
manually sort and verify the data required for emissions measurement, and then enter the
information into systems. This process can increase the workload of emissions accounting,
create dependence on specific individuals, and lead to missed or incomplete data registration.
In fact, in a regular survey conducted by ASUENE among corporate users, the most common
request, accounting for approximately one quarter of all responses, was the automation of
invoice registration.
In response to this need, ASUENE has enhanced its proprietary AI agent NIKOLA, built into
ASUENE, to automatically retrieve necessary information from invoices received via email and
register the data required for emissions measurement. This AI based capability to automatically
import files attached to emails represents a new approach for sustainability focused SaaS
platforms.
By automating this process, companies can perform GHG emissions measurement and
calculation tasks more accurately and efficiently.

Overview of the “AI Email Import” Feature
With this feature, the AI automatically checks emails received at a pre registered dedicated
email address and determines whether attachments are included and whether they are relevant
for emissions measurement. For files such as invoices that are identified as necessary for GHG
emissions measurement, AI OCR reads the contents and organises the information as data
required for emissions accounting, which is then automatically registered in ASUENE.
In addition, ASUENE plans to gradually expand the feature to support cases where invoice files
must be downloaded from URLs included in the body of emails. The system will automatically
detect such links and process the files accordingly.
Through this AI driven automation, users can complete emissions measurement tasks without
logging into ASUENE. By automating routine data registration processes in sustainability
operations, the feature helps prevent missed entries and input errors while supporting
continuous and accurate management of GHG emissions data.
